2010 - 2011 Program Information

Program Overview

With the goal of building relationships with local schools by awarding cash prizes, the program is open to all county elementary schools and runs from September 1, 2010 through May 31, 2011. Schools compete with each other for the highest accumulation of points per student. Extra credit point opportunities are available at certain times throughout the program year.

Prizes

The school with the most points per student at the end of the program year will receive a $3,000 donation. The second place school will receive a $2,000 donation. Over the past three years, additional participating schools have received cash donations, with total donations amounting to over $21,000! The availability of additional funds will be determined during the course of the program and participating schools will be provided with the most current information.

Schools have the opportunity to earn points in the following ways:
Earn 1 point for every dollar spent at Fairlane Village Mall stores. Receipts can be redeemed in the Mall Office. Receipts must be dated between September 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. During regular office hours, receipts are logged and returned while you wait. In addition, a dropoff box will be placed outside the Mall Office to make it easier for shoppers. Receipts can be placed in the box when the mall office is closed, provided the shopper writes the name of the school that should receive credit on the back of the receipt. Any receipts placed in the drop off box will not be returned. Only original receipts are accepted. Photocopies are not valid. Earn 100 points for every Little Villagers member that attends one of the FREE monthly events offered exclusively to Little Villagers members. Students can register to become a member of the Little Villagers Kids Club by visiting the Mall Office. Click on the Little Villagers link for more information. Earn 500 points for any Little Villagers member that achieves perfect attendance at the FREE monthly events. Must attend every Little Villagers monthly event held September, 2010 through May, 2011. Earn 1,000 points when your school signs up to participate in the REPUBLICAN & Herald's Family Reading Festival taking place at Fairlane Village Mall on November 6, 2010. Contact Rachel Evans at the REPUBLICAN & Herald (Phone 570-628-6058) for additional information on becoming involved in this event. Earn 200 points for every student that attends the REPUBLICAN & Herald's Family Reading Festival taking place at Fairlane Village Mall on November 6, 2010. Earn 200 points by returning the Cash Back for School registration form to the Mall Office by Friday, August 27, 2010.

How Can You Help?
Any Fairlane Village Mall customer can help a participating school. Bring your receipts to the Mall Office and specify which school you would like to receive the corresponding points.
